Help Menu

Using this courseware
This courseware enables the student to view all course material on-line, including example problems, exercises, and interactive tools such as the function grapher. The interface itself has been designed to be as intuitive as possible, but help is available for the following topics:

The Course Interface

The course has been designed around the Netscape Navigator web browser. The course documents are written in HTML, so the course webspace is navigated just the same as a regular World Wide Web document.

The main display areas of the interface are

location window,
menubar,
table of contents,
subcontents frames, and the
main frame.

Location Window
The location window displays your current location in the course documents, and is updated as you move through the chapters.

The Menu Bar
The menu bar contains buttons linking directly to the search engine to search all course documents, sample exercises, a glossary of terms, and a link to this help page.

Pick a menubar item for more help on that particular item.

Table of Contents

The table of contents is a listing of all the major items in this course. For the individual chapters, sub-topics are listed in a subcontents window (see next item)

Subcontents Windows

The two bottom frames contain contents information for the various subsections of the course. These windows are updated as necessary as you navigate through the course. An arrow indicator () points to the subsection currently being viewed.

Main Window

The main window, or main frame, is where the course material, and all other documents, are displayed. Links followed in this frame will load a new document, and as well, update the Location and Subcontents frames.
