Courseware Navigation

Navigation through the various sections of this courseware is very similar to navigating with the Netscape Navigator Web browser. However, instead of using the Netscape's "Back" and "Forward" buttons, the user must use those provided in the courseware's menu bar. This is because the Netscape's buttons operate by targeting the most recently active frame (and only that frame). However, the menu bar's "Back" and "Forth" buttons target the main (viewing) frame which in turn controls the other bottom frames. This is essential to the courseware's navigation.

At any point, the user can identify which section of the course is currently showing, by looking at the subject frame, and the corresponding subcontents frame. In addition, the user can navigate to any other section, by either choosing an option from the menu bar's table of contents, or clicking a menu button.

PLEASE NOTE: Netscape Navigator 3.0.1 handles frame navigation and reloading slightly differently than does Netscape Navigator 3.0. Consequently, it is recommended that version 3.0 or below be used to view this module. However, if version 3.0.1 is being used, the user can possibly encounter minor frame navigation problems associated with the "Back" and "Forth" buttons provided in this module.
